Greenville Memorial Hospital has been ranked among the nation's top 50 hospitals in five specialties in U.S. News' 2009-10 publication of America's Best Hospitals. Greenville Memorial and the Medical University of South Carolina are the only hospitals in the state included in this ranking. Greenville Memorial ranks as follows:
#25 in Diabetes and Endocrine Disorders
#30 in Digestive Disorders
#43 in Heart and Heart Surgery
#44 in Neurology and Neurosurgery
#49 in Orthopedics
Now in its 20th year, the multi-platform 2009 America's Best Hospitals guide is the most extensive hospital ranking to date. It includes rankings of 174 medical centers nationwide in 16 specialties, with full data available online for another 1,500 unranked hospitals.
